Asteria
(Sylvia Rhyne, soprano, and Eric Redlinger, tenor and lute) seeks to
bring a narrative quality and emotional immediacy to their late-medieval
vocal and instrumental music. Their historically informed settings are
based on extensive archival research into original sources in Paris,
The Hague, and Basel, Switzerland.

Asteria's first release, Le Souvenir de Vous
me Tue, is an exquisite collection of French love songs from the
15th century featuring the work of some of the leading composers of the day, including Dufay, Binchois, and Robert Morton.
Soyes Loyal, Asteria's second collection of medieval French chansons, is a fascinating look at the dual image of the "Lady" and the "Rose" in both secular and sacred music of the latter Middle Ages. Features gorgeous music by Dufay, Jacques Vide and others!

Join Asteria as they spend a year in France, following in the footsteps of the great composers of the Middle Ages with the Asteria in France Podcast and the Asteria Blog.
